Visiting a professional spa for the first time? This friendly guide covers everything you need to know — from what to wear and how to communicate with your therapist to booking tips and aftercare.
Welcome to the world of professional spa therapy! Whether you're visiting Thai Spa in Bahria Town or any luxury spa for the first time, knowing what to expect makes your experience infinitely more enjoyable and effective.
Before Your Visit
*Book in advance:* While we accept walk-ins at Thai Spa, booking via WhatsApp the night before guarantees your preferred time. For Couple Massages, we strongly recommend advance booking.
*Arrive 10 minutes early:* This gives you time to settle, choose your treatment options, and begin relaxing before the session even starts. Rushing to an appointment counteracts everything massage is trying to achieve.
*Communicate any health conditions:* Tell your therapist about any injuries, medical conditions, areas of sensitivity, or recent surgeries. This helps us customise your treatment for safety and maximum benefit.
During Your Session
*It's okay to talk:* Some guests chat with their therapists, others prefer complete silence. Both are perfectly fine. Your comfort is the priority.
*Speak up about pressure:* This is the single most important piece of advice. If pressure is too firm or too light, please say so immediately. A good therapist always welcomes feedback — it helps them give you the best possible session.
*Breathe deeply:* Deep, slow breathing amplifies the relaxation response dramatically. When a therapist works on a tense area, consciously breathe out through the mouth to help the muscle release.
After Your Session
*Drink plenty of water:* Massage releases metabolic waste from your muscles into the bloodstream. Drinking 2-3 extra glasses of water after your session helps flush this out and prevents any post-massage soreness.
*Rest if possible:* The 1-2 hours after a massage are an extension of the treatment. Avoid strenuous activity and give your body time to integrate the benefits.
*Mild soreness is normal:* After deep tissue or intensive Thai massage, some areas may feel tender for 24-48 hours — similar to post-exercise soreness. This is healthy and fades quickly.
