Confused about which massage to choose? This complete guide compares Deep Tissue and Thai massage so you can pick the perfect treatment for your specific needs and health goals.
Choosing between Deep Tissue and Thai massage is one of the most common questions our guests ask at Thai Spa. Both are highly effective therapeutic treatments — but they work in fundamentally different ways and excel in different situations.
What is Thai Massage?
Thai massage is a dry treatment (no oils) performed fully clothed. It combines rhythmic compression along energy pathways, passive yoga stretches, and acupressure. Sessions typically last 60-90 minutes and address the whole body systemically.
What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage uses oil and targets specific areas of chronic muscular tension using slow, firm strokes and focused finger/elbow pressure to reach the deepest muscle layers and fascia.

Can you combine them?
Absolutely. Many of our guests at Thai Spa start with 30 minutes of Thai stretching for the whole body, then switch to 30 minutes of Deep Tissue on problem areas. Ask our therapists about our combination sessions.
